Winter Energy-Saving Tips

Turn your thermostat down at night when you are sleeping or when you leave your home for an extended period of time. According to the MEEA, "For every degree you lower your heat in the 60-degree to 70-degree range, you'll save up to 5 percent on heating costs." If you turn your thermostat down to 55 degrees at night, you can save 5-20 percent on your heating costs.
Also, keep blinds and curtains open during the day to let the sun shine in, but close them at night to insulate your windows. When you're not using your fireplace, stuff some insulation inside of your chimney to keep the cold from getting in!

Winterize your doors and windows!

So much heat escapes from closed doors and windows. Go to your local home depot and get some rope caulk. It is easy to use and helps keep your home warm.

these simple steps will help lower your bill!! Trust me.
