Who is the REAL Terrorist?

The FBI recently seized four mosques and one New York high rise owned by a non-profit Muslim organization. The actions of the FBI could also result in the closing of Muslim mosques.

So here's the main question:
Is the FBI’s action legitimate, or is religious or racial discrimination fueling their judgment, and to what extent do Muslims actually condone terrorism?

If the claims are right, then it looks like some mosques will be shut down for the safety of everyone. But what does "the safety of everyone" actually mean? Are we going to be in a safer position when mosques close? Will this fire up the country's racists to continue to call Muslims terrorists, or worse?

There has been little Muslim response to the controversy, but why would Muslims stand by and watch their community shut down, are they too afraid to be caught themselves? Do they support terrorism, or do they just not care?

I agree that not all Muslims

I agree that not all Muslims are terrorists and those that aren't are being looked upon as if they are. Similar instances happened after Japan bombed Pearl Harbor; we rounded up a bunch of Japanese & put them in camps here in the states as if a regular family was sitting there with bombs. We have also persecuted every nationality that has come here looking to find a better life. We have rounded up Africans & sold them as slaves, then set them free, and then abused them.
The problem is lack of tolerance for anyone not like us. Us being ???? It depends on the era. Right now it's the Muslims. Do we actually know who drove those planes into the WTC? Did their licenses fall from the sky? How did we know within a days who did that anyway? I feel that racial profiling is not the best way to find terrorists, but given the current climate, what should we do?

FBI actions seem extreme

I wonder what the actual reason for the raid was. Did the FBI actually have legitimate reasons for raiding the mosques? Or is this just an excuse to close down mosques in areas the government feels are high risk.

Oh Geez...

Racial profiling is too often seen as one of THOSE issues. You know what I'm talking about: the hot-button ones that you're supposed to be either for or against. But if you're for or against something like racial profiling, I don't really have an idea of what you believe.
For instance, someone could be "against" hard racial profiling, which is much more closely linked with racism in that it allows only racial characteristics to judge if someone is misbehaving, whereas that same person could be "for" soft racial profiling, which allows one to consider if someone is dangerous based on attributes including, but not limited to, race. That said, an instance of hard racial profiling would be a cop pulling over a black guy only because he's black. Soft racial profiling would include other characteristics, too (i.e. the guy has bloodshot eyes and is paranoid, which might indicate drug use).
In any case, this comment isn't about racial profiling facing blacks as much as it is Muslims. And while the larger question is if shutting down mosques is okay, it actually concerns the issue of racial profiling.
Osama bin Laden, for instance, identifies himself and his followers as Muslims. That said, would U.S. intelligence agencies be doing something stupid if they didn't at least investigate some of the Muslims in America and abroad? Yes. But it would also be stupid for the same agencies to ONLY investigate Muslims. Clearly not all terrorists are Muslim and not all Muslims are terrorists. The word "Islam" actually means peace, believe it or not. In any case, if intelligence investigated every person in the U.S.--or the world--it wouldn't be doing anyone a favor because it would be spreading its resources WAY too thin. So in this case, what can we gather? That mosques are being investigated, and some are shutting down. Should we be worried for the other mosques? From a First Amendment standpoint, yes. Some will probably be seized, but if this happens, we should hope that this won't happen simply because they're mosques, but that they're mosques associated with terrorist organizations.

Heal the World

Make it a better place for you and for me and the entire race.

People just need to get along! I live in New York City and yes Muslims are suspect but unless there is hard evidence then they should really be left alone. Religion and power are the basis for a lot of terrorist attacks. The US just invades countries and then the terrorist retaliate. Let them be. Two unnessary wars..No nuclear weapons and no Osama Bin Laden. Let me have my country and you have your religion and lets live happily ever after. Im sick of riding the metro and worrying about attacks..Knowing that the US is invading these peoples countries doesnt put me at ease.

Being is a Muslim is tough!

Its not easy to be a Muslim in this World. The Terrorists and Media have made it hard for Muslims.

I would say the Government is doing their job.

Media is trying to capitalize on the events and tell a story...not NEWS.

Muslims are scared, if they say anything for or against this topic the Government will come after them.

The only way to solve this issue would be to get Muslims to talk and condem terrorism and issolate terrorists and terror activity from their religious teaching. Unless Muslims take responsibility, these henious acts will continue and millions for Muslims will pay a price for the wrong doings of a few hundred.

Is issue is left upto the Muslims, they need to set the record straight with the Media and among themselves.

A little Racial Profiling goes a long way!

Yes no the mosques may or may not be linked to terrrorism but is it worth the risk of someone's feelings? There must be a reason that the FBI would seize these mosques which is one of the greatest take overs the FBI has ever done in its history! These tactics are the same tactics that put some terrorists in jails where they belong and people safe in their homes! So what if someone might get their feelings hurt. Of course not all muslims are terrorists but it doesnt help that most of the ones we see are muslim. If Muslims don't want to be targeted then they should not have the beards and wear the turbin on their heads. Of course its their right but I know I get uneasy when I see a sterotypical looking muslim get on the CTA during rush hour. Yes theres rasicm and it shouldnt be that way but the Muslims have to work with the racists to make changes instead of everyone just expecting the racists to have a sudden change of heart!! GO FBI!

US Gets Away with Murder

I don't know anything about what this organization is, or what the mosques were accused of doing, but we deserve to hear this information.
I think the government overreacts and targets Muslims, Arabs, or pretty much anyone that "looks Muslim." Seriously, the media totally hypes up the whole terrorism thing just like they did in the 1950's with Communism. Fact is, terrorism sucks, and a lot of people commit terrorist acts. For example, the US government. What have we accomplished in our war on terrorism? How many innocent Iraqis have we killed? Aren't we the only country to have actually used a nuclear bomb? I guarantee we are just as guilty as the terrorists we accuse.

All Muslins are terrorrists

Is the same as saying all Jews are inferior or all Christians are .

Generalizing an entire group of people leads to more hatred and violence! The more people feel persecuted the more likely they are to grow hostile.

Muslims are the real terrorists!

The government is doing their job. Check out Fox News story, how radical Muslims are spreading hate across the World.

http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,575859,00.html

Unless Muslims kill these radicals...the World will suffer.

So we know who the terrorists are!

so... using yout logic we should kill those who negatively represent us instead of the rest of the world trying to understand that you shouldn't generalize an entire group of people?

Both are TERRORISTS in their own each way!

Terrorists are people who kill in the name of Jihad, i call them Psycho's.

The Government is over defintely over reacting..and plus keep in mind 2012 elections are only 35 months away ...what did our beloved President Bush do.....scare the shit out of us Americans to the point when we saw a man with a BREAD we ran for cover unless he screamed and said "hey you! stop running i am JEWISH...i will only take your money not your life"

Muslims are terrorists cause they do not stand up against these crazy nuts who kill people in the name of Jihad.

So there you go....we will never find out the answer to the question "Who is the REAL Terrorist?"

I don't even think it's fair

I don't even think it's fair to entertain the idea that all Muslims could be terrorists. I bet the government is overacting as usual, assuming that everyone who's brown is bad. I'd really like to see them seize a Catholic church that could be considered a terrorist organization, or maybe "God Hates Fags." I am way safer with them out of the picture than the Muslim mosques in New York.
