Right after 9-11, almost

Right after 9-11, almost EVERYONE I knew was pro-war, kill the bad guy, yada, yada. Call me crazy, but I felt this would be another Vietnam and it is. Fast forward to 2010; now we all hate the war. My, how we have changed!
Early to mid 2000's, house prices & the stock markets were going up, up, up. Everyone was happy & making money. Call me crazy, but it HAD to end. You can't have starter homes starting at half a million when jobs don't pay that much.
Obama seems like a nice guy who is well meaning & certainly is a great orator, however the fact is, he comes will very little experience. He's hired some Daley Machiners and in Chi Town, we all know what that means-crooked politics.
The fact is that NO president was ever going to fix the mess left by the Bush & Clinton administrations. No one can 'create' jobs. Jobs are created by US! We buy, we borrow, we start the little mom & pop businesses that we don't frequent because it's cheaper to buy from the big box companies who sell goods made in sweatshops from around the world.
Obama's only mistake thus far was promising too much & making us believe through a lot of jargon that fixing it all was possible. He is not a god, just another politician like the rest. People are just tired of the talk now; we're rid of Bush, yet the economy, despite all the cheerleading by the Obama pom squad, is still in the tank. I don't want any president to fail; I don't want Obama to be another Jimmy Carter, but he needs to start shaking things up and fast.
The government is NOT handling bailout money correctly-look at all these CEO's STILL giving themselves million dollar bonuses for doing a crap job-let them quit!! Hire some new CEO's! I bet one of the 10.2 million unemployed could do as bad of a job for a fraction of the cost! Put a cap on cheap imports & force us to buy items made in our country. Give incentives to US car manufacturers to make smaller, more fuel efficient cars. Cash For Clunkers was a great idea, but has it made any money for the US car industry or for Toyota & Honda?
And yes, we are holding Obama responsible-he is our leader, he made the promises; we didn't put the words in his mouth. The problem with our nation is the lack of accountability. No one is EVER to blame for screwing things up. Bush & Cheney should be in prison right now for screwing us over. Clinton should have been impeached in his day. However we STILL manage to lay the blame on anyone BUT the president.
I hope Obama realizes that as a nation we ARE expecting him to work. Quit the appearances on talk shows and start walking the walk. I hope the vote in Massachusetts is the wake up call Obama needed. People are hurting & WANT changes made. This isn't about skin color-this is about doing the job you promised you could do, so get going & the harsh criticism will stop.

i think people hold Obama up

i think people hold Obama up to an unreasonable standard. nobody demanded accountability from Bush when he was screwing everything up for his first 4 years. but because Obama is a minority and he built his campaign around the idea of change, everyone is expecting the world to look different with the blink of an eye. we do not hold Bush accountable for starting a war, but we hold Obama accountable for ending it. kind of ironic.
Obama is a politcian, and he's working in the same system Bush worked in. maybe we can't achieve all of this change because everyone expects the president to do everything while they kick back, and maybe we can't achieve change because our government itself doesn't allow for change to happen quickly, regardless of who is in office.
a politician is a politician is a politician. they're all going to disappoint you. they're not gods.

Obama is..

slowly laying the ground work for what could be a successful your year term. Good things take a lot of time to build meanwhile it can take minutes to destroy something like the economy. Everything was great in 2007 and three years later the financial situation is ruined. The war has been going on for a long time now with no resolution in sight. i don't see why people care so much about Guantanamo though because those are federeal prisoners who may be terrorists. Why are we so concerned about them. Some may not deserve to be there but is some men a reason to risk thousands of American lives. Also he is working diligently on health care reform. Thats a major issue.

I believe that Obama is not

I believe that Obama is not on the right track... for this reasons:
1- he promise a lot of things and in the end, after one year he did not change nothing; for ex: he did not close the Guantanamo prison.
in the end he is exactly like the others politicians...
I dont think that he create more jobs at all.... I really believe that Wall street is the "heart" of US and until he believes on that, we will continue in this economy.
In the end, he became a celebrity!!!

Media making him out to be a celebrity

The media is obsessed with the Obama's because they are young, attractive and the first minority in office. I do think President Obama has used this to his benefit.

One year is too short a timeframe to really judge how he has done. The problems he faced coming into the job were huge. I'm interested to see his actions this year. Will he be brash like with the bailout?? or has he learned from his experience?

So my opinion is he is a President TRYING to get control. LOL
