you should read about the history of eugenics before taking a stance on this issue. yes, overpopulation is a problem. killing people- not so great. accusing less developed countries of the problem is dumb because you're not taking into account all of the issues. poorer coutnries don't always have access to contraceptives, condoms, sexual helath education etc. then there's rape. then there's forced sterilation which is super oppressive. then racism, sexism, homophobia all come into play. who gets to have babies? what babies do you keep? how are mothers going to be treated? who is benefitting and who is losing?
i personally, am not so interested in having kids, and everyone tells me i'm crazy for feeling that way. maybe if everyone didn't expect you to get married & start a family since the moment you are born... who knows...

How about we just have more wars? That should solve the overpopulation issue. Oh, and to the victor go the spoils! Just joking. This is a super sensitive issue, and you cannot force people to abstain from having children. Having children is a primal urge and also, it was what we were made to do. Can't we come up with another solution? I'm not saying everyone should have 18 kids and keep counting, but maybe responsible people should have kids and irresponsible people should not have kids. Why are people in poor countries pushing out 10 children per family if they are having a hard time feeding even themselves? And rather than teach them how to take care of themselves, we just give them boxes of food creating a lasting dependence that has not and will not be broken. These people need skills and education, not foreign aide.
The nations of the world need to figure out a way to deal with population. Abortion is not the answer. Governments need to figure out how to grow their economy....i know its easier said than done...
Maybe the government can give free TVs to everyone who has more than two children....so the couple has something else to do......LOL
Mother Nature has her own way of 'thinning the herd". Not that I wish to be the one thinned, but let's face it, we can't all live to be one hundred and reproduce like rabbits & all live here happily. China did have a one child per family law and still they have tons of people so that wasn't an answer. In the words of John Lennon, 'Let it Be', 2012 is 2 years away & we'll all get sucked into the sun anyway.
Due to China's 1 child policy, a large number of female babies are aborted, killed or sold. India also has a preference for boys and female infanticide is a common practice.
