Living on Long Island, NY, I heard about this story on one of my local radio stations. I was in the car with my mom, and she thought it was a stupid decision to allow a child to be giving the pilots the greenlight for take-off.
This is like one time when I was on the train, and one of the conductor's sons was announcing the next stations over the loud speaker. While everyone thought it was cute, it made me wonder if he was "helping" the conductors operate the train, or was touching any buttons in the control room!
While it's cute for parents to bring their kids into work for "Bring Your Son/Daughter to Work Day," the children shouldn't be allowed to take part in something that takes other people's lives into their hands. This is like a doctor bringing their child into an OR or ER, or a police officer bringing their child with them in a patrol car. It's definitely a "no-no!"
This is so crazy!!!
Can you imagine the face of the pilot when he heard this little voice say him to take off!
