Earthquakes, Tsunamis, Rain...what is happening?!!?

A couple of months ago, I'm thinking about life...everyday I read the news papers and there is always an article about or tsunamis, or earthquakes or the bad weather that we are having!!!
One man died this weekend in NYC - central park because one trunk three fell and the man died....
There is a island in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean, Madeira, that is devastated because of the rain. The storm was the worst to hit Madeira, an island in the Atlantic off northwest Africa, since 1993. It lashed the capital, Funchal, on Saturday and turned some streets into raging torrents of liquid brown mud, water and debris.
The flash floods were so powerful they carved paths down mountains and through the city, churning under bridges and even tearing some down. Residents had to cling to railings to avoid being swept away. Cars were consumed by the force of the water, and the streets were littered with the battered shells of overturned vehicles that had been swept downstream.
After, Chile was hit by an earthquake that killed until now 700 people and 2000 are missing....
So after this news ( and others) what is happening?!?! I really believe that nature wants to give us a lesson: "I'm stronger than you...so please threat me better!" we really need to take care of our planet...God bless the world!

People only care...

when there is an actual problem. Americans i believe have a "well deal with it when we cross the bridge mentalitiy". It goes for environmental, healthcare, economy. They just want to fix the problem instead of prevent it. With this mentality there wil be a major catashrophie and it has to be huge, bigger than Katrina because that was swept under the rug. I guess well just have to sit and wait. Luckily I live live in Chicago, and nothing ever happens here. Maybe some tornadoes but that happens in the suburbs. I'm more concerned about terrorists.

It just seems like a lot of

It just seems like a lot of stuff is happening because news comes to us 24-7. I can't believe that all the stations were waiting for hours for the tsunami to hit Hawaii on Saturday afternoon! Back in the day (my day-cro-mag times), when you only had news for a half hour at 6 & 10, these disasters would have barely been shown.
It just shows us that we are pretty unsophisticated when dealing with nature's true power.

Regarding Hawaii, I completely agree with you...tv stations are a "species" that just think in money...we really need to care of our environment,...
