A couple of months ago, I'm thinking about life...everyday I read the news papers and there is always an article about or tsunamis, or earthquakes or the bad weather that we are having!!!when there is an actual problem. Americans i believe have a "well deal with it when we cross the bridge mentalitiy". It goes for environmental, healthcare, economy. They just want to fix the problem instead of prevent it. With this mentality there wil be a major catashrophie and it has to be huge, bigger than Katrina because that was swept under the rug. I guess well just have to sit and wait. Luckily I live live in Chicago, and nothing ever happens here. Maybe some tornadoes but that happens in the suburbs. I'm more concerned about terrorists.
It just seems like a lot of stuff is happening because news comes to us 24-7. I can't believe that all the stations were waiting for hours for the tsunami to hit Hawaii on Saturday afternoon! Back in the day (my day-cro-mag times), when you only had news for a half hour at 6 & 10, these disasters would have barely been shown.
It just shows us that we are pretty unsophisticated when dealing with nature's true power.
