Children In Need

My parents are still together after 33 years and a few years ago, I started to wonder how that was possible. I'm sure there's no sole reason for why this is so, but I'm also sure that having a divorce attorney for a mother doesn't hurt. Don't think the worst of her by any means, though. She simply is a good lawyer, and is always learning how to work things out in her marriage by learning from others' failed marriages.

Yet many of my friends have parents who are divorced. And I remember when I was in first grade, two friends of mine had divorced parents. I mean, that early after having kids? And yet so many parents are like that.

So yeah, kids hurt on the inside (and I'm not talking about the womb) when parents separate. I don't really know the readership on this site, but if you've got a niece or a nephew or a son or daughter that is a little torn up by divorce or some other traumatic event experienced at a young age, you might want to see what Rainbows can do about it. It's an organization that's been around for 25 years and in the past year they've helped 127,000 children!

My brother got divorced shortly after the birth of baby number 2

Its hard to see how this kids are shuttled back and forth. Some custody arrangements are so unstable, we can only pray that the kids aren't hurt too much.

Any organization like Rainbow really does help, especially in situations of really bad divorces when the parents are so busy being angry and bitter with one another and forget about their children.

25 years!!

My parents are going on 25 years. Who knows how people keep the spark alive after 25 years. Thats why I think its so crazy for some people to get married so young because they think its just the next step to married without really thinking that marriage is supposed to be for life. Why would young people feel the need to get married so soon? I could see how children would act out if their parents split up because it would make holidays a lot harder with separated parents.
